These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and My Dog Hates Technology LLC, publisher of SnugStories. I use “I,” “me,” and “my” below to refer to the company.
By downloading, accessing, or using SnugStories (the “App”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Your download and use also remain subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and any applicable Apple end-user license terms.
1. Who may use SnugStories
You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If you are not old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms for you and supervise your use.
2. License
Subject to these Terms, I grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s usage rules. SnugStories is licensed, not sold. I retain all rights in the App that these Terms do not expressly grant.
3. Your stories and other content
You keep ownership of recordings, artwork, titles, and other content you create or add. I do not claim ownership of your story files.
You remain responsible for that content. Record, import, export, or share content only when you have permission and the necessary rights. SnugStories does not give you rights to any book, illustration, recording, voice, trademark, or other material owned by someone else.
4. Acceptable use
You may use SnugStories for lawful personal and family purposes. You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works from the App except where applicable law permits it.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Remove ownership, copyright, or trademark notices.
- Interfere with the App’s operation, security, purchase checks, or access controls.
- Use the App to violate law, privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, or other rights.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
SnugStories may offer features through in-app purchases or subscriptions. Available products, prices, billing periods, trial terms, and renewal details appear in the App Store or purchase screen before you confirm a purchase.
Apple processes payment and manages billing. I use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage access to paid features. RevenueCat does not receive your payment-card details from SnugStories.
If a purchase screen describes an auto-renewable subscription, it renews under the terms shown there until canceled. Manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account. Refund eligibility and requests follow Apple’s policies.
Loss of access to a paid feature after a subscription ends does not delete story files already stored on your device.
6. Story storage and backups
SnugStories stores story files on your device and provides supported export and file-sharing tools. You control exports and backups. Device failure, app removal, operating-system changes, or accidental deletion can cause data loss. Keep an independent backup of recordings that matter to you. I do not promise that lost files can be recovered.
7. Privacy
The SnugStories Privacy Policy explains how the App handles story files, diagnostics, purchases, and support information.
8. Updates and availability
I may release updates, change features, fix defects, or stop supporting part or all of the App. Updates may require a supported device or operating-system version. I do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
I may suspend rights granted under these Terms when you materially violate them. Your license ends automatically if you fail to comply with these Terms. You may end this agreement at any time by stopping use and deleting the App.
9. Third-party services
SnugStories relies on Apple services for App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, device backups, and optional diagnostics. It uses RevenueCat for purchase validation and subscription management. Those services remain subject to their own terms and privacy practices. I do not control their availability or operation.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SnugStories is provided “as is” and “as available.” I disclaim express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. Any rights that cannot legally be excluded still apply.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, My Dog Hates Technology LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost content, data, profits, or business opportunities arising from SnugStories.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability for claims relating to SnugStories will not exceed the amount you paid for SnugStories during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits do not apply to liability that applicable law does not allow me to limit or exclude. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.
12. Governing law
Delaware law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise. Courts with jurisdiction in Delaware may hear disputes relating to these Terms, unless applicable law gives you another right.
13. Changes to these Terms
I may update these Terms when SnugStories, Apple services, or legal requirements change. I will post revised Terms here with a new “Last updated” date. I will provide additional notice when required by law. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
14. General terms
If part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the remaining terms continue to apply. Failure to enforce a term does not waive it. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and applicable Apple terms form the agreement governing your use of SnugStories.
You may not assign these Terms without my written consent. I may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of SnugStories, subject to applicable law.
